Use ordinary taxable income for the basic resident income-tax estimate. Gross salary, taxable income and take-home pay are different amounts; Medicare, HELP and offsets are excluded from this tool.
Compare the same costs and time period
The GST tool adds or extracts the standard rate for supported supplies. For a borrowing decision, compare the repayment illustration with a lender quote that lists fees and its own compounding method.
Fixed-rate loan payment in AUD
Enter your own amount and nominal annual rate. This general formula assumes equal monthly payments and excludes fees, insurance, taxes, variable rates and product-specific contract rules.
Worked example: $20,000.00 at an assumed 6% nominal annual rate over 36 months gives $608.44 per month. This rate is an example, not a Australia market rate or offer.
Formula: payment = P × r / (1 − (1+r)−n), where r is the annual percentage divided by 1200 and n is months. At zero interest, payment = P/n. Use the full loan calculator.

Planned local coverage
These tools are coming soon and are not available as calculations:
- Medicare/HELP and take-home payroll
- superannuation
- state stamp duty
Each needs its own official sources, supported circumstances and test cases before publication.
Before you compare results
Keep the currency and time period consistent. A monthly income estimate is an annual average unless the calculator explicitly models individual pay periods. The general loan and savings tools do not apply Australia tax law, fees, benefit rules or investment guarantees.
Changing the display currency does not convert exchange rates or change the legal jurisdiction of a calculator. Use the dedicated local tool for the scope described above.
